Rocky Mountain Horses Gentle - Naturally Gaited - Old Time Bloodlines

LexStone Ranch in Bellville, Texas is located about 60 miles west of Houston. It consists of rolling pastures, mature oaks, a large pond, native grasses and wild flowers. We have 57 acres of pasture land for our growing herd of horses, our small herd of pet cows, three Great Danes, and two cats. When I bought Blue, my first Rocky in 1999, I fell in love with the breed. This ranch has always been a lifetime dream and we are so excited to be able to share it with you. Our goal is to produce quality Rocky Mountain Horses that feel at home on the trail or in the show ring. We have old time blood lines that turn out calm, sweet natured horses with a natural gait. The Rocky is an exceptional breed that is eager to please and highly intelligent. We recently had the opportunity to purchase Post Rock Stoney Point, a beautiful black stallion with the old blood lines that I cherish. We feel that he will be the perfect compliment to our mares. We breed for temperament, gait, and conformation. Our babies are imprinted at birth, handled daily, spoiled, and allowed to play and grow up as horses in the pastures almost year round. We do plenty of ground work before exposing them to the saddle. The Rocky is a slow maturing breed and we like to wait until they are 3 yrs old before we put a rider on their back. We believe that it is important to lay a good foundation, so that when the horses leave our ranch, you have something solid to continue to build on. Our foals are taught to lead, bathe, stand for the farrier, and load into a trailer. We try to expose them to as many things as possible. Each horse at LexStone is a member of our family. We have made many friends on our journey to get here, and we hope to make many more. Please stop by and see us anytime you want. |
